Hi ho – hi ho

My hubby is a mans man.

He wakes up in the morning with work on his mind and hits the grindstone before I’ve even had a chance to pry myself away from “Sesame Street.”

Here’s what his day looks like:

  • Call Fischer and have them deliver four loads of road mix and one load of gravel.
  • Call Concrete guys and ask prices/set up day this week to come do finish work.
  • Price concrete.
  • Move around existing gravel/roadmix with Skidder.
  • Compact gravel/roadmix.
  • Make sure everything is level.
  • Have Thomae deliver re-bar and mesh.
  • Move all the re-bar and mesh around everytime Fisher shows up with another load of roadmix/gravel
  • Try to teach Ashley how to run the compactor.
  • Show Ashley how to run the compactor again so that she doesn’t end up hurting herself.
  • Finish plumbing the bathroom.
  • Set floor drain in center of shop.
  • Start laying down the insulation and then in-floor heat pipe.

If you happened to even read all that, I think you deserve a medal.

Now my day looks something like this:

  • Feed kiddo.
  • Get the kiddo dressed.
  • Change kiddo’s diaper.
  • Feed kiddo.
  • Check Facebook.
  • Lay down kiddo for a nap.
  • Check Facebook again, make phone calls to clients, e-mail clients, Facebook clients, make the bed, get laundry started, finish last night’s dishes and run the dishwasher.
  • Feed kiddo.
  • Change kiddo’s diaper.
  • Try and listen to hubby explain how to run the compactor.
  • Really listen this time while hubby explains how to run the compactor.
  • Put kiddo down for a nap.
  • Check Facebook, charge camera battery, clear SD card for session this evening, print out all documentation needed for this evening’s session, pull out laundry from washer and hope it’s not been too long…insert into dryer, unload dishwasher.
  • Wake kiddo up and change diaper.
  • Feed kiddo.
  • Entertain kiddo until I get to leave for my session.
  • Take a deep breath, hit the dirt road and head to work!!

So really, I have decided that with both the hubby and I at home, more gets done at this house than ever.  Now, if I can just convince him to actually take a ‘real’ vacation that doesn’t involve 14 hour work days and muddy boots being trampled all over my clean floors.  🙂

Ahhhh…A Day in the Life…
