It’s beginning to look a lot like…Christmas?

Yes, you read that right.  It’s October 18th and I am wayyyyyyyy behind on Christmas presents already.

I am one of those people who actually like to handmake gifts for my friends and family.  (Though I am sure some of my friends/family would rather get a gift card than a handmade dishcloth…)

Normally around this time, I already have at least half of my projects finished.  Thing is, if you know me well, you know and already realize that I work very well under pressure.  I would almost prefer for it to be that way.  While certain areas of my life are outlined and listed like you would find in a tried and true recipe…this aspect of my life (crafts, gifts, Holiday planning, etc…) is the EXACT opposite.  Give me a deadline and I’ll meet it, no question.  I might be working my @$$ off until the last second (literally…) but I’ll meet it baby!

So in light of needing to get my rear in gear…I made a trip to Hobby Lobby.

Oh Lord.

I knew it was going to be bad.  I went into the store knowing that I wasn’t going to skimp on yarn and decided to pretty much ignore pricing.  Ugh.

Here is what happened…

My name is Ashley and I am addicted to yarn.

So I decided I would make a fun little game out of this at least.

If you guess how much I spent in yarn on this ONE trip to Hobby Lobby, you will win a set of handmade dishcloths, or a cozy for your coffee!   You must comment on this blog post (not on Facebook, not by sending me an e-mail or message) and the closest guess without going over, wins!!

Ahhhhh….A Day in The Life…

Love the colors, Woman! I’d LOVE to learn how to knit! I know a little croche but not very good at it!
    I will guess 122.22 (lucky #22!)

    • Hey Julie! I actually crochet and can’t knit AT ALL! I bought a knitting kit, complete with instructions a few weeks ago and it was an absolute disaster. Give me a crochet hook though and I can practically do it with my eyes shut! 🙂

  27. 123 bucks! Which is money well spent if you actually complete your project. I, on the other hand, LOVE to buy crafty stuff and then it gathers dust in my office and assumes its rightful position on my “Gotta get to that” list!

    October 19, 2010 at 2:40 pm

    • Oh trust me girl…I’ve got more projects accumulating dust around my house than I want to admit to! For some reason though – my Christmas projects always get done. (*crossing my fingers* and hoping I didn’t just jinx myself!)

  34. Well you went to Hobby Lobby… did you use a coupon? They have them on the website so you can get between 40 to 20% off 😉 😉

Soo… I’m guessing at least 100. But of course it also depends on what type of Yarn you got… ha ha!!

BTW… I don’t want to be in the contest….. I just wondered in from Ravelry because I wanted to see your photography and I think it’s awesome! And inspiring. I’m glad to know I’m not the only photographer that likes to knit. 😀 😀
